A Tarot Card & Car Shark
Ever heard of a tarot card car shark? Nor did I, but that’s the name my dear friend gave me after she heard the story of me selling two Audi’s within a month, with zero experience selling a car, let alone having any knowledge about engines, tech, and car stuff.
Many years ago, during a very tough financial period, with no income coming in and a son to feed and raise, I had to devise a solution. Being resourceful, I decided to do just about anything, save for spreading my legs. I had the instincts of a shark and the attitude of a general. I also knew how to read Tarot and did it for fun for friends. Sometimes, I used this knowledge to gain a bit of insight into current events and those affecting my life. Mostly, I was against doing the cards for myself as there was no filter. In simpler terms, my thoughts, biases, and subconscious ego would get in the way of reading my situation.
But, one dim autumn day when the temperatures reached a low of (woe be me!) 50 degrees Fahrenheit — I thought it chilly; that’s how thin my blood has become since living in the desert oasis of Austin, Texas — I did the cards, and something pointed to trying a new skill related to transportation. As there is relatively zero public transportation, save for the public buses and a pathetic one-train tram that zips in and out of the two lines that cross the city with an average occupancy rate of less than 5% at all times, there is Amtrak and of course cargo trains. So, what type of future income stream in transportation could there be for me? Hmmm. Cars.
